tell Bradley I am Brenda and I'm just shelf and welcome to the rally be today stories are 3D printers Martin Luther King jr. day and spelling bee how amazing stories are now let's get because we are talking about 3D printers so mr. cone we know you liked stuff with these 3D printers of yours so how do you operate one of the 3D printers sometimes students design their own files or we can find various files online that are already made after we have that file I put it into the MakerBot software is the software that the printer is run on so I can adjust settings and make sure the temperature is right and everything and then from there we should be able to send it to the printer to print what software do you use in the making of the object at already said MakerBot the force sometimes students make their own files and we use a program called tinkercad it's a free online program where students can use basic gym text shapes and add them together and create holes in in that program they can create pretty much whatever they want to  so can you show us some parts of the 3D printer itself sure  Huron are MakerBot we have two important parts the first part is the bed or the platform that's the part that actually gets printed onto now this one is glass and underneath of it is a piece of aluminum that heats up it's important that that bed is hot so that the plastic sticks really nicely if that doesn't happen as the plastic starts to cool they could start to warp in Vans and come off the platform and that would mess up the print  the head of the printer can move add to side and back and forth and so that's how it prints whatever shapes we wanted to on the bed on the filament is the actual plastic that we printed and that comes from the back of the printer on large schools into the head and then the part that melts the plastic is called the extruder you can think of it kind of like a hot glue gun how the tip gets really hot and melts the plastic that's what this part is here and that's where the melted plastic comes through and gets laid down onto the bed what an amazing story 3D printers are so cool now let's buzz on over to the spelling bee spelling bee maroon and stands January 10th we had a school Spelling Bee for 5th & 6th graders the easy challenge became a total door between a 5th grader and a sixth grader our winner is our very own Anastasia Breen for mr. Eric let's go see her response hello this is Zachary bear reporting and I am with Anastasia Brie the 2017 spelling bee winner what did you feel like when you found out that you want it was very exciting because I honestly didn't think I was going to win when I came in I was just like okay I've been chosen to do this just be glad that I was one of the few who got to actually try guess what I found that that I had one it was just very exciting and I was very proud of myself that's a great what was your hardest word that you had to have probably the word equestrian because there was a lot of there's a lot of different letters in it and so you kind of have to like jump around and I had make sure I took it very slow he's like mess up they said that you spelled specific wrong how did you feel I was very nervous because I was like I know I'm not going to be able to go to the Leavenworth County Spelling Bee and so I was kind of like no but I tried to keep my cool but then he found out that you actually spelled right how did you feel when you found out that you would have actually spelled that right I was very excited I'm just was kind of excited too it was just kind of relieving that I actually didn't mess up and then I was still in the running but it's kind of bad sense of awkwardness now that you lady spot something wrong it's out now it felt like everybody was like looking at me and anticipating me to like fail again I'm back up there thank you  wow what a spelling bee in congratulations the Theo and Anastasia the 5th and 6th grade winners has just passed let's take a moment to remember this amazing man  last week we had no school on Monday if you wondered why it was because of a very important holiday reading a very important person Martin Luther King Jr Martin Luther King jr. was a civil rights leader he wanted to everybody of all different races to live in peace and Harmony he was on January 15th 1929 in Atlanta Georgia when he was a young boy he went to segregated schools that means that the school is that him and others apart from other people because they were can Americans graduating high school at fifteen and then going to college the rest of his life he led peaceful protest for the civil rights movement and was awarded the Nobel Houston 5 prize money of $54,123 to help the civil rights movement on April 4th 68 the world 1 the death of Martin Luther King  in the words of Martin Luther King jr. there's not wallow in the valley of Despair I say to you today my friend even though we Face the difficulties of today and tomorrow I still have a dream it is a dream deeply rooted in the American are the king jr. was such an inspiration now it's time for real  sweater what when does Christmas come before Thanksgiving the answer is a dictionary today's winners are Miranda and Mrs silver Scott's Jackson MS O'Donnell's and Sam great job to the winners and all the people who got the riddle right now for new riddle what has four fingers and a thumb but is not living that's all for today remember to work hard do your best and respect the safety and needs of others by buffaloes
